"Women are the backbone of all societies. They do a substantial part of the work, and play a major role in raising the future generation yet they are largely powerless. The decisions that count are made by men and foisted upon women."

What Women Want – XXVII. Love (1 of 3)

There are many types of love.

First and foremost we have the love of God for His children.
And the love of these children for the Universal Father.  This is
the most sublime love we will know during our sojourn on our
native planet and thereafter.

We love our parents, and they love us in return.  Under
normal circumstances, this is one of the loftier expression of
love.

We love our siblings for we shared the most important years
of our lives with them.  As we all know, there are many
unfortunate exceptions to this rule.

Friendship is a form of love.  We cannot choose a brother or
a sister.  We accept them and love them as they are.  We do,
however, choose a friend.  The choice is predicated first on
common interest and likeness, and then on love.  Some friendships
have endured over many decades.

We love our pets and they love us in return.
Unconditionally.  They do not judge us for they cannot.

Then there is the love between a man and a woman.

Love or lust?

They are both young and attractive.  They are walking hand
in hand looking adoringly at each other.  All activities around
them have ceased, for they are alone on the planet!

The bride is dressed all in white.  She is beautiful.  She
is radiant.  Tears are glistening in her eyes.  The groom is so
handsome in his tuxedo.  Happiness is written all over his face.
When they both say “I do,” you would be hard-pressed to find a
pair of dry eyes in the audience.

I am not waxing poetic here.  I have an important question.
Perforce, I have to pose it somewhat crudely.  My question is:
“Are these people really in love, or are they simply lusting
after each other?”

It’s a question that has crossed my mind many times.  I am
not out to shock anybody.  I simply want to share with you the
fruits of many years of pondering over this matter.

So, what conclusion did I reach?  With some exceptions, it’s
lust.  My evidence follows.

1. Very attractive members of the opposite sex are popular.
This gorgeous guy has girls buzzing around him like bees around a
flower.  Many are “in love” with him.  His good friend is quite
plain.  The young ladies wouldn’t be caught dead dating him.  We
can safely conclude that nobody is in love with him.  No, wait,
his mother loves him, and this is true love.  The “love” girls
have for his friend is not love.  It’s pure, unadulterated lust.
