The Sublime Adventure – XXXIV. Our Constellation (4 of 7)

The Gardens of God
On the constellation headquarters worlds living
embellishments are more generally utilized. Thus, if you’re a
lover of botanic artistry, you will love your sojourn on Edentia.
About half of Edentia is dedicated to the superb gardens of
the Most Highs. Since the capital of our constellation is about
100 times the size of Urantia, we have in effect 50 Earths filled
with exquisite gardens! Is it any wonder then that our prophets
have referred to Edentia as the “Garden of Eden?”
In the center of this magnificent garden is the worship
shrine of the Most Highs. The Psalmist must have known something
about this grandeur, for he wrote: “Who shall ascend the hill of
the Most Highs? Who shall stand in this holy place? He who has
clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to
vanity nor sworn deceitfully.” At this shrine, every tenth day
of relaxation, the Most Highs lead all Edentia in the worshipful
contemplation of God the Supreme.
“The architectural worlds enjoy ten forms of life of the
material order. On Urantia there is plant and animal life, but
on such a world as Edentia there are ten divisions of material
life. Were you to view these ten divisions of material life, you
would quickly classify the first three as vegetables and the last
three as animals, but you would be utterly unable to comprehend
the nature of the intervening four groups of prolific and
fascinating forms of life.” (The Revelator does not explain the
nature of these four groups, perhaps because there is nothing
remotely related to these forms of life here on Urantia).
Animal life is very different from that of the gross animal
species that live on the evolutionary worlds. It is most
intelligent and exquisitely serviceable, “… and all of the
various species are surprisingly gentle and touchingly
companiable.” There are no carnivores on such worlds; “… there
is nothing in Edentia to make any living beings afraid.”
Vegetable life is also very different from that of Urantia,
it includes both material and morontia varieties. Material
growth has a characteristic green coloration whereas the morontia
equivalent of plant life has a violet or orchid tinge of varying
hue and reflection. These plants provide pure energy, when eaten
there is no residue.
There are thousands upon thousands of plant and animal
species. And it is this preponderance of life, and the supernal
grandeur of these gardens of Edentia that causes these worlds
(the capitals of constellations) to be called “The Gardens of
God.”
The Revelator (Malavatia Melchizedek) concludes this part as
follows:
“But it is beyond my powers of description to undertake to
convey to the mortal mind an adequate concept of these beauties
of the heavenly worlds. Truly, eye has not seen such glories as
await your arrival on these worlds of the mortal-ascension
adventure.” [P492 & 493].
