A Simple Solution

Back in the Middle Ages, the King of England was facing intractable problems;
and his populace was very unhappy; his very reign was at stake.
After many discussions with his advisors, they resorted to an age-old solution; find
a scapegoat and place the blame there.
It didn’t take them long to find one: The Jewish people has played this role for
millennia, so why not now use them again.
To solve the problems of the kingdom, it was agreed to expel all the Jews in
England.
And so the King called their leader Caleb and delivered the news.
Caleb pleaded for mercy and emphasized that the Jews were an asset. But the
King was not convinced. Finally, he asked Caleb, “what should I do with the
English Jews? Your answer should not be more than one word!”
To this Caleb replied, “Nothing!”
