"Women are the backbone of all societies. They do a substantial part of the work, and play a major role in raising the future generation yet they are largely powerless. The decisions that count are made by men and foisted upon women."

The Sublime Adventure – XXX. The Morontia Life (6 of 6)

Morontia Mota

“Mota is more than a superior philosophy; it is to
philosophy as two eyes are to one; it has a stereoscopic effect
on meanings and values.”

Mota is taught by the previously mentioned Morontia
Counselors.

“The lower planes of morontia mota join directly with the
higher planes of human philosophy.”

On the first mansion world, less advanced students are
taught by the parallel technique: in one column are presented
the more simple concepts of mota meaning, in the opposite column
citation is made of analogous statements of mortal philosophy.

The Revelator, while on the first mansion world for an
assignment, had the opportunity to observe this method of
teaching. While he is not permitted to present to us the mota
content of the lesson, he does provide us with the 28 statements
of human philosophy used by the morontia instructor.

You will find these 28 illustrations of human philosophy on
pages 556 and 557. I trust you will find them fascinating and
food for thought. Here I am providing you with some of them.

“4. Few mortals ever dare to draw anything like the sum of
personality credits established by the combined ministries of
nature and grace. The majority of impoverished souls are truly
rich, but they refuse to believe it.

6. To enjoy privilege without abuse, to have liberty without
license, to possess power and steadfastly refuse to use it for
self-aggrandizement – these are the marks of high civilization.

8. Effort does not always produce joy, but there is no happiness
without intelligent effort.

12. The greatest affliction of the cosmos is never to have been
afflicted. Mortals only learn wisdom by experiencing
tribulation.

13. Stars are best discerned from the lonely isolation of
experiential depths, not from the illuminated and ecstatic
mountain tops.

17. Ambition is dangerous until it is fully socialized. You
have not truly acquired any virtue until your acts make you
worthy of it.

18. Impatience is a spirit poison; anger is like a stone hurled
in a hornet’s nest.

19. Anxiety must be abandoned. The disappointments hardest to
bear are those which never come.

26. Knowledge is possessed only by sharing; it is safeguarded by
wisdom and socialized by love.

28. The argumentative defense of any proposition is inversely
proportional to the truth contained.” [P554, 556 & 557].
